Who we are
DealDialect is a free website that helps U.S. businesses communicate well with partners in export markets. It is operated by Ayomide Adeyeye ("DealDialect," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version: every tool works without an account. We collect as little as we can. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising trackers.
What we collect
| Information | When we collect it | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Only if you create an account | Your email address. Profile fields: organization name, U.S. state and role (business, counselor or educator). Whether you agreed to follow-up surveys, and your email preferences. |
| Readiness Assessment results | When you finish the assessment | Your score for each of the five areas, total score, band, market, date and, if you answer it, your U.S. state. Results are anonymous unless you save them to your account. |
| Course progress and test scores | When you take a course | Lessons completed, pre-test and post-test scores, and negotiation simulator scores. If you are not signed in, progress is kept only in your browser; test and simulator scores are stored without your name. |
| Message Check information | When you use Message Check | Market, message type, which guidance rules were triggered and the date. We do not store your message text unless you tick the box to share it anonymously. |
| Workshop reports | When an organization reports a session it ran | Organization name and type, U.S. state, session date, format, number of attendees and firms, the kit used, comments, whether we may list the organization as a partner, and the email of the person who reports it. |
| Workshop surveys | When you answer the survey at the end of a workshop | Your ratings, choices and comments, without your name. If you agree to a 3-month follow-up survey, your email is stored separately from your answers. |
| Survey responses | Only if you agreed to follow-up surveys | Your answers to the 3-month and 6-month surveys, linked to your account or to the survey link we emailed you. |
| Feedback | When you use a feedback widget | The page or chapter, your rating and any comment you write. |
| Contact and partner forms | When you write to us or apply to be listed as a partner | Your name, email, organization, reason for writing and message. For partners: organization name and type, U.S. state, your role and how you would like to work with us. |
| Sign-ups for updates | When you ask to hear about a new guide or kit | Your email and, if you give them, your role and whether you would review a guide. |
| Technical information | When you visit the site | Our hosting provider processes basic technical data, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. To limit Message Check use, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your network address, never the address itself, for one day. Our analytics tool counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. |
Please do not put sensitive personal information, confidential deal terms or anyone else's private details into Message Check, feedback boxes or forms.
What we do not collect or do
-
We do not use advertising trackers or advertising cookies.
-
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
-
We do not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
-
We do not need an account, a password or payment details for any tool. Sign-in uses a one-time email link, so there is no password to store.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only what the site needs to work. If you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser may also store your lesson progress, simulator progress, the details you type into templates and your Lite mode setting, and, for one browser tab only, a message you send from a template to Message Check. Our analytics tool does not use cookies. Because we use only what the site needs to work, we do not show a cookie banner.
We count visits with Plausible Analytics. It does not use cookies, and we use it only to see totals, such as how many people opened a guide. It does not track you across other websites.
How we use information
-
To provide the tools you use: show your results, save your progress, run Message Check and send the emails you ask for.
-
To send follow-up surveys, only if you agreed to them. You can stop them at any time.
-
To measure and report our impact in aggregate, for example average learning gain or number of workshops delivered. Public counters never show individual data.
-
To improve guides, lessons and Message Check rules, using feedback and anonymously shared messages.
-
To list partner organizations publicly, only with their permission.
-
To keep the site secure, prevent misuse (for example the Message Check rate limit) and meet legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws, we rely on these legal bases:
-
Consent for follow-up surveys, shared messages, sign-ups for updates and optional emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
-
Contract to provide your account and the tools and emails you ask for.
-
Legitimate interests to keep the site secure, prevent misuse, improve our content and report our impact in totals.
-
Legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
Service providers we use
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site. They process data only to provide their service to us. We use only providers that publish data protection terms for their customers.
| Category | Provider (current) | What they process |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Vercel | Delivers web pages and runs server routes. Processes technical data such as IP addresses in server logs. |
| Database and sign-in | Supabase | Stores account details, saved results, progress, reports, surveys and feedback. Sends or manages one-time sign-in links. |
| AI review of messages | Anthropic (Claude API) | When you click "Check my message," your message text, market, message type and our guidance rules are sent to the provider to generate the review. DealDialect does not store your message text unless you opt in to share it. The provider processes it under its commercial terms for API customers. |
| Resend | Sends sign-in links, the welcome email, results emails, confirmations of workshop reports and messages, deletion confirmations and, if you agreed, follow-up surveys. Processes your email address and the email content. | |
| Analytics | Plausible | Counts page views and feature use (for example "assessment completed") without cookies and without identifying individuals. |
We may change providers. If we do, we will update this table. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and DealDialect.
How long we keep information
| Information | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Account details and saved results | Until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days |
| Anonymous assessment results and test scores | Kept, because they cannot identify anyone |
| Message Check metadata | 2 years |
| Messages you chose to share | 3 years |
| Workshop reports | 5 years |
| Survey responses | 3 years |
| Feedback and contact messages | 2 years |
| Server logs held by our hosting provider | As set by the provider's terms |
Aggregate figures that cannot identify anyone, such as yearly impact totals, may be kept longer.
Your rights and choices
-
Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
-
Correction: update your profile in your dashboard, or ask us to fix anything that is wrong.
-
Deletion: use the "Delete my account and data" button in your dashboard, or email adeyeyeayomide97@gmail.com. We remove personal data within 30 days.
-
Surveys: turn off follow-up surveys in your dashboard or use the link in any survey email.
-
Shared messages: ask us to remove a message you shared, if you can tell us enough to find it. Shared messages are stored without your name or email, so tell us the wording, or the date and a distinctive phrase, and we will find and delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law. These can include the right to object to or limit some uses of your data, to receive your data in a portable format and to complain to a data protection authority. Residents of some U.S. states, such as California, have similar rights. To use any of them, email us. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
DealDialect is designed for business professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
DealDialect is run from the United States, and our providers may store data in the United States or other countries. If you use the site from outside the United States, your information will be processed there. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses our providers offer.
Security
We protect data with access controls on every database table, encrypted connections, input checks on every form, rate limits on public tools and secret keys kept only on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, post a notice on the site or email account holders.
