Open workshop kits for the advisors who help America export.

Free, ready-to-run workshops on business communication in African markets. Built for SBDC advisors, District Export Councils, state trade offices, trade associations and educators.

Why a workshop

Your clients trust you. When one of them starts selling into Nigeria, you are often the first person they ask. These kits give you a tested session you can run without building anything from scratch.

There are nearly 1,000 Small Business Development Centers nationwide (America's SBDC). Each one that runs a session reaches firms we could never reach alone.

How to run it

Three steps. Most advisors can prepare in an afternoon.

  1. Prepare. Download the kit and read the facilitator guide. It has speaker notes and timings for every segment. Print the handout and quick card, or share the links. Add your logo to the title slide if you like. Ask attendees to take the 5-minute readiness check before the session.

  2. Deliver. Run the session in person or online. Use the built-in activities: pairs rewrite a cold email, and small groups play two simulator scenarios. Close by asking each firm to write one next step. Hand out the post-session survey on paper or by QR code.

  3. Report. Fill in the short form below. It takes about two minutes. We add your session to our public impact counters after a quick review, and we can send your attendees a follow-up survey if they agreed to it.

Good practice

You do not need to be an expert on Nigeria to run this kit. The facilitator guide explains every point and the reason behind it. If an attendee asks something the kit does not cover, point them to the full Nigeria guide.

Tell us you ran it

Two minutes. It helps us show funders and partners that this work matters.

Your report adds to the public counters on our Impact page. We only publish totals. We never publish attendee names.

For example, your SBDC center or association.
Where the session took place, or where most attendees are based for online sessions.
Count people, not firms.
Count each business once, even if several staff attended.
